Electrical Signature Analysis
Electrical Signature Analysis is used for detecting the motor conditions and power supply conditions in various electrical equipments. This analysis skill is also applicable for detecting aircraft equipments. Electrical Signature Analysis System provides the capability of detecting severe connection problems, air gap faults, rotor faults, electrical and mechanical faults in the motors.
The generator output current through a constant load was monitored and analyzed using Electrical Signature Analysis methods. Many features related to generator running speed were detected in the electrical signature, including dominant peaks at multiples of eight times generator speed. Electrical Signature Analysis methods are used to assess the diagnostic potential of voltage signals obtained from three tachometer generators used by a Bell Jet Ranger helicopter.
